UFC 150 sounded like a pretty good time for the Caged In staff here at Bleacher Report to start doing predictions for UFC pay per view events. So that's exactly what we're doing.

In the following pages, myself, Jonathan Snowden, Matt Roth, Duane Finley, Scott Harris and John Heinis will take you through each of the five main-card fights from this Saturday's big lightweight title-headlined event from Denver. We'll tell you who's going to win each fight, and we might even tell you why.Ideally, you should be just a little bit smarter after reading this. But we're not promising anything.

Jeremy Botter: I'm one of those folks who thought the first fight between Henderson and Edgar wasn't even all that close; I thought Henderson took the bout, and easily. So you can imagine my prediction here. Henderson isn't just a much bigger fighter than Edgar—he's simply a better all-around fighter. He'll nullify Edgar's speed by using his size. Henderson by unanimous decision.

Jonathan Snowden: I don't see a single reason to pick anyone but Henderson in this fight. As spirited as Edgar is, he's undersized and outgunned here. Maybe this will be the final straw that forces him to drop to 145 pounds? More than anything else heading into 2013, I'd love to see Edgar and Rashad Evans, two small wrestlers with big hearts, fighting in their appropriate weight classes. Henderson by decision.

Matt Roth: I'm picking purely with my heart here. I'm a New Jersey native and will always pick Frankie Edgar, no matter what. He's proven that he can beat the best that lightweight has to offer in the past and I believe he can do it again. His wrestling and boxing are outstanding, which should be the difference maker. Edgar via decision.

Duane Finley: The first match up between these two was about as even as they come. Edgar was able to put Henderson on his back throughout the fight while "Smooth" was able to score in the exchanges. I normally wouldn't see a second tangle going much different, but over past two years, Edgar has been able to add a new wrinkle when it comes to immediate rematches. Add this in with me picking against him in every rematch and I'll say I've learned my lesson. I see Edgar solving the puzzle of Henderson and reclaiming the title. Edgar via unanimous decision.

Scott Harris: I love me some Frankie. But the size and athleticism gaps will again prove a bridge too far for the former champ. The masses calling for Edgar's drop to featherweight will morph from loosely organized militia to unruly mob after Saturday night. Henderson by unanimous decision.

John Heinis: I may end up looking stupid again, but I think Edgar wins this rematch. He looked way better in his rematches with BJ Penn and Gray Maynard than he did in the first respective encounters, so I see that trend continuing here. Also, I truly believe Edgar would've won the first fight if he didn't get hit with that crushing upkick. I don't think that happens again. Edgar by unanimous decision.

For better or worse, the light heavyweight division's next top contender will be determined at UFC on Fox 4, where Mauricio "Shogun" Rua and Brandon Vera will compete in what many believe to be a very lopsided main event. Should that fight not produce a worthy title challenger, the UFC brass will look to a co-main event bout between Lyoto Machida and Ryan Bader.

Since capturing the UFC's 205-pound championship with a knockout of Machida in May 2010, Rua has lost two of his past three fights. Though Rua's stock is currently trending downward slightly, a rematch of an epic fight with Dan Henderson would sell well if "Hendo" finds a way to dethrone Jon Jones in September.

For Vera, who was temporarily released from the UFC in 2011, a bout with Rua will provide an opportunity for redemption. Once considered a fighter who could contend in multiple weight divisions, Vera hasn't been able to defeat a highly-ranked opponent since his knockout win over Frank Mir in November 2006.

Like the main event competitors, Machida and Bader are also hunting a rematch with Jones. Machida fell to the light heavyweight champion in his most recent appearance, but the Brazilian arguably became the first fighter to steal a round from the 205-pound king. Meanwhile, Bader is on a two-fight winning streak and will have a chance to pick up another career-defining win in this co-main event.

Before Saturday's event, which will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, the fighters will hit the scales on Friday at 7 p.m. ET. Video of the weigh-ins will be streamed live on the above video player.

Winner of Mauricio Rua-Brandon Vera bout to challenge Jon Jones for title – UFC News

Dana White, UFC president, in a recent media interaction made a huge announcement by officially pronouncing the upcoming bout between Mauricio Rua and Brandon Vera as a light heavyweight title eliminator bout with the winner progressing towards a shot at Jon Jones’ light heavyweight title.

With this proclamation, the intensity and significance of UFC on Fox 4’s main event has invigorated substantially. Rua and Vera are scheduled to meet at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, United States in a five-round non-title bout.

The pay-per-view will be televised live on Fox TV and will also witness Ryan Bader take on Lyoto Machida in a three-round non-title bout, co-headlining the main card. Dana recently attended a press conference where he talked about some rumours and the possible future fights.

When asked about the rumour as to whether UFC is thinking of giving the winner of the upcoming Rua-Vera bout a shot at Jones gold, White explicitly said ‘Yes’. The hardcore White while seconding his decision commented that he believes Rua deserves a shot again.

White was of the view that Mauricio has nailed almost every ace name in the division, adding that a win over Vera will just place him in the number two spot eventually making him eligible for a title bout.

Dana stated, “Rua just came off a ‘Fight of the Year’ last year. He’s probably one of the best fighters of the last decade. This guy knocked out ‘Rampage’ (Jackson), knocked out Chuck Liddell, knocked out Mark Coleman, knocked out Lyoto Machida, knocked out Forrest Griffin, knocked out Alistair Overeem twice, submitted Kevin Randleman. A win vs. [Vera] puts him right back in position, and then he’s probably the No. 2 guy in the world.”

On the other hand, Vera who successfully broke his three-bout lose streak, thanked Dana for the title shot clause stating, “Like I said before, this is already a blessing in disguise, and by Dana throwing [the title shot] out there, it's like winning the lottery twice.”

Rua, 30, will enter his 27th career bout, boasting 20 wins with a huge 17 coming by way of knockout. Although he is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Dan Henderson still everybody knows that the bout was epic and Shogun lost by just an inch.

The odds are in favour of Rua who not only possesses more experience but has also nailed some big names in the division. Vera must take this opportunity and work hard. If he is able to grab a win over Mauricio then it would definitely be considered as ‘upset of the year’.
